Yesterday was an awesome day at Mill 19! We had a blast hosting students from Cornell, Hampton, and South Allegheny high schools as part of the Consortium for Public Education‘s Future Ready Leaders program. It was all about diving headfirst into the world of manufacturing!
The students were treated to an immersive experience, starting with a tour of the facility. But that was just the beginning! They had the unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders from the ARM Institute, Catalyst Connection, and Motional. And talk about a highlight – witnessing one of Motional’s driverless cars up close and personal was an unforgettable moment for everyone involved!
The hands-on portion of the day involved Catalyst Connection’s manufacturing breakout box activity. This activity challenged them to think on their feet and work together to crack the code while using their manufacturing knowledge. These boxes were no match for the students as they all finished in under 20-minutes!
In the end, the visit left us buzzing with excitement and gratitude. Huge thanks are in order to the dedicated teachers, eager students, and invaluable partners who made the day possible. Here’s to many more exhilarating visits like this at Mill 19 – we can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🎉
