National Manufacturing Day
National Manufacturing Day is an annual nationwide event held on the first Friday in October. This year, it will be held on October 6, 2023. However, there are Manufacturing Day events all month long!
National Manufacturing Day (MFG DAY) and Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
How to get involved
National Manufacturing Day events happen all over the state all month long! Teachers and students have the abilitiy to attend these in-person and virtually. Below you will find upcoming events from Catalyst Connection and our partners.

Our Past In-Person MFG Day Events
In 2019 we held the inagural in-person MFG Day event at Mill 19 (home of Catalyst Connection!) in partnership with the ARM Institute. This event allowed students to tour Mill 19, see a live panel discussion, and interact with vendors! We were able to finally continue this in-person event in 2022.

Our Past Virtual MFG Day Celebrations
During the global pandemic we were not able to host any in person Manufacturing Day events, but we were still able to share about the wonderful careers in manufacturing virtually! We hosted a variety of MFG Day panel discussions that were very informational for students.
