Manufacturing is defined as “the act or process of producing something,” but manufacturing is really much more than that simple definition. It is a dynamic, engaging, highly technical career field with endless possibilities.  Manufacturing companies in the region are making consumer goods, food, airplane components, electronics, medical devices, and even robots heading to the moon! Manufacturing career pathways can include going right from school to work, attending an apprenticeship program, participating in an accelerated trade school program, or completing a college degree.  In manufacturing, you can pursue your passions and make a lasting impact in the world!

Pursuing a Career in Manufacturing

To pursue a career in manufacturing, there are multiple ways to get started.

Think about and make a list of what you are passionate about. In most cases, there is a way to connect that passion to a career in manufacturing!

Talk to your career/guidance counselor to see what classes and opportunities exist at your school.

Look at some of the career options available in manufacturing by watching videos created by local students, checking out the careers highlighted on this website, or looking at online job postings.
