WSCAM Video Contest 2024 Recap

Apr 19, 2024

Our What’s So Cool About Manufacturing Middle School Student Video Contest Program has officially completed for the 2023-2024 school year! 🎬 It was an extremely successful program year and we are so proud of the hard work put in by the student teams, teacher coaches, and featured manufacturers. 👏🎉

Pittsburgh Central Regional Contest

Pittsburgh Central consisted of 13 teams from Armstrong, Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Washington counties! These 13 teams pulled in a total of 276,861 viewer’s choice votes during their week of online voting! We celebrated these 13 teams with an awards ceremony on April 10th at Mill 19. The students began their day at Mill 19 with keynote speakers from Moonshot Museum and Astrobotic to learn about how Pittsburgh manufacturing is getting us back onto the moon! 🌑🚀 After the keynote portion of the ceremony, the winners were announced. There was excitement flying through the room celebrating fellow teams on their wins. The excitement didn’t stop there! After the ceremony, students had the opportunity to rotate through three activity sessions including a tour of Mill 19 featuring demos conducted by our friends at ARM Institute and CMU’s Manufacturing Futures Institute, a hands-on 3D printing pen activity with our friends at BotsIQ, and a manufacturing expo featuring 10 companies!
