On April 9, 2025, students from across the region gathered at WCCC’s Student Achievement Center to celebrate their achievements in the WSCAM Pittsburgh East What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Video Contest. The day was filled with inspiration, exploration, and hands-on fun as students connected with industry professionals, explored STEM career paths, and were recognized for their outstanding video projects.
The energy was high at WCCC as we celebrated the creativity and curiosity of local students during the WSCAM Pittsburgh East What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Video Contest Awards Ceremony. The event brought together schools, manufacturers, and community partners to recognize student storytelling and offer a hands-on look into the world of modern manufacturing.
🎤 We kicked things off with a powerful young professionals panel featuring representatives from FS-Elliot, Intervala, and Roechling. These emerging leaders shared their personal career journeys and helped students see the many exciting and meaningful opportunities available in manufacturing.
🏆 After the awards ceremony, students dove into interactive breakout sessions that included:
- 🔧 A hands-on design and tech activity with Assemble
- 🌱 A STEM and problem-solving experience with 4-H
- 🏭 A manufacturing company expo featuring local industry leaders and career insights
These sessions sparked meaningful conversations and gave students a glimpse into real-world pathways where their ideas and talents can thrive.
