Penn-Trafford High School Teams Up with Stellar Precision Components for Manufacturing Innovation Challenge

Mar 1, 2025

Penn-Trafford High School students are getting a hands-on experience in real-world manufacturing challenges thanks to an exciting partnership with Stellar Precision Components as part of our Manufacturing Innovation Challenge Program.

Students from Mr. Romeo’s class recently visited Stellar’s facility to kick off this collaborative project. During their visit, they engaged with employees to discuss industry challenges, gain insight into real-world problem-solving, and tour the facility to see advanced manufacturing processes in action.

This year’s challenge focuses on two key areas of innovation for Stellar:

Market Expansion – Exploring new industries where Stellar’s expertise could have a significant impact. Students will research viable markets and assess opportunities for growth.

AI in Manufacturing – Stellar is currently using AI-powered tools for estimating and CNC programming but faces challenges with complexity, ITAR regulations, and cybersecurity constraints. Students will investigate alternative AI solutions and competitive options to help Stellar optimize its processes.

Through this partnership, students will apply their problem-solving skills, conduct research, and propose innovative solutions to help Stellar navigate these industry challenges. We’re excited to see their findings and the creative ideas they bring to the table!

Stay tuned for updates as this group of students dive deeper into the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge! 🚀
