National MFG Day Activities Recap

Nov 1, 2022

National Manufacturing Day (MFG DAY) and Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

This year, MFG Day was held on October 7, 2022. However, there were MFG Day events all month long!

Us at Catalyst Connection participate in MFG Day every year in a variety of different ways.

Let’s recap!!

October 6: MFG Day at Mill 19 (our offices!) hosted by Catalyst Connection, The ARM Institute, and Manufacturing Futures Institute. 80+ students from local high schools came to our morning event to learn about manufacturing careers and robotics! Our event had hands-on tours, awesome exhibitor tables of manufacturers and partners with manufacturing programs, and a panel discussion!

October 11: Virtual Panel Discussion with Women Owners in Manufacturing – View Recording Here

October 20: Beaver County STEM Pathways Event at Beaver County Community College. 750+ middle school students came to the Dome in Beaver County to learn about a variety of STEM careers through exhibitor tables, tours of the campus, and a panel discussion of young professionals.

October 28: MFG Day at The Digital Foundry with Catalyst Connection and Penn State New Kensington. 40+ students from local high schools came to our full day event to learn about careers from local manufacturing company representatives at showcase tables, a hands-on technology lab tour, an interactive entrepreneurship/innovation activity, and a panel discussion!
