Our annual Mill 19 Manufacturing Day celebration was a huge success! This year, we welcomed more than 120 students from 14 local high schools for a day of career exploration and hands-on learning.
Students had the opportunity to experience what happens at Mill 19 through interactive demonstrations from CMU’s Manufacturing Futures Institute and industry partners. Colleges, universities, and workforce organizations were also on site to connect with students, share insights, and discuss education and career pathways. In addition, 12 manufacturing companies showcased their work, helping students learn more about the exciting opportunities available in modern manufacturing.
The day began with a student-focused experience in the morning and concluded with a job fair in the afternoon. Job seekers from local partner organizations connected directly with manufacturers that are actively hiring, creating valuable opportunities to learn about careers and take the next step toward employment.
