Another Manufacturing Innovation Challenge project kicked off in February with students from Highlands High School partnering with JV Manufacturing to begin their role as outside consultants on a real-world marketing and manufacturing challenge. During the kickoff visit, graphic design students were introduced to JV Manufacturing’s brand, products, and target audiences, setting the stage for a creative, industry-driven project. The students had the opportunity to meet a variety of employees and tour the facility to see the entire manufacturing process.
Students are now tasked with developing a social media marketing plan and designs to strengthen JV Manufacturing’s online presence and better showcase the company’s capabilities, culture, and career opportunities on Facebook and LinkedIn. The project challenges students to apply visual design, branding, and digital communication skills in a professional manufacturing context.
Through conversations with JV Manufacturing team members, students gained insight into the company’s marketing goals, audience needs, and brand identity.
Following the kickoff visit, students will develop their social media marketing materials back at school, applying creative problem-solving, collaboration, and industry-aligned design skills. This spring, they will return to JV Manufacturing to professionally present their campaign recommendations, completing the experience as industry consultants and demonstrating how student creativity can support manufacturing outreach and brand awareness. Stay tuned to see their designs in action.
