We officially launched a summer Manufacturing Innovation Challenge project with a fantastic kickoff visit bringing together students from City Charter High and the team at Hellbender Vinyl. This marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration where students will explore real-world manufacturing challenges and bring creative, sustainable solutions to life.
During the visit, students got a behind-the-scenes look at Hellbender Vinyl’s production process and met with staff to learn about the company’s work and culture. The energy was high, and it was clear from the start: this was going to be a meaningful experience for everyone involved.
This summer, the student team will be tackling a unique sustainability challenge—how to creatively reuse the color purge materials generated during the vinyl manufacturing process. They’re already brainstorming ideas, and we’re excited to see what innovative solutions they develop.
We’re proud to connect schools and manufacturers through hands-on learning and problem-solving. Special thanks to City Charter High and Hellbender Vinyl for participating in this project and giving students a real world experience!
Stay tuned for more updates—and check out some moments from our kickoff below!
