Students from Franklin Regional High School are diving into the world of advanced manufacturing through an exciting partnership with FS-Elliott as part of our Manufacturing Innovation Challenge Program.
To kick off the project, students toured FS-Elliott’s facility, met with employees, and discussed real-world manufacturing challenges that they will help solve. This hands-on experience will allow them to apply STEM skills in a meaningful way while gaining insight into cutting-edge industry solutions.
The student teams will focus on two key projects aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency:
🤖 Automation Project – Designing a solution that enables a robotic arm to move multiple parts into a machine at once, increasing production efficiency.
🔧 Grinder Project – Developing a prototype to assist operators in lifting and angling large parts for proper machine loading, improving ease of use and precision.
By working directly with FS-Elliott, these students will gain valuable experience in problem-solving, engineering design, and manufacturing innovation. We’re excited to see the creative solutions they develop and formally present to the company!
Stay tuned for more updates on their progress!
