Today, pre-apprentices from Keystone Oaks High School had an incredible opportunity to dive into the world of robotics during a hands-on training session at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). The session provided an exciting, interactive environment where students could explore robotics and spark their interest in STEM careers.
An Inspiring Experience
The students eagerly tackled real-world robotics challenges, working together to solve problems and bring their ideas to life. They experimented with coding and mechanical design, seeing firsthand how technology and innovation come together to create functional robotic systems. Their enthusiasm and creativity were on full display as they navigated each task. Throughout the day, students also learned the value of collaboration, troubleshooting, and adapting to unexpected challenges.
This hands-on experience also brought new life to the online modules from our Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Pre-Apprenticeship program. Students were able to connect theoretical concepts from their virtual coursework to real-world applications, making the learning process more engaging and meaningful.
Looking Ahead
By the end of the session, students left with a sense of accomplishment, newfound skills, and a deeper appreciation for how technology shapes our world. Many expressed excitement about pursuing future opportunities in STEM fields and exploring robotics further. Experiences like these make learning exciting and help prepare students for bright futures in manufacturing!
Thank you to our partners at CCAC and the wonderful students and teachers from Keystone Oaks!
