Apr 16, 2026

IMT Pre-Apprenticeship students from Blackhawk High School recently visited Kenson, a manufacturing company in Beaver County, for a hands-on learning experience that connected classroom concepts to real-world careers. The visit included technical training activities, a company tour, and a presentation on career opportunities in manufacturing and quality.

During the visit, students practiced basic quality measurement techniques and learned why precision inspection is critical to daily production. Kenson staff explained how accuracy and attention to detail help ensure parts meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Students also toured the facility to see how products move from raw materials to finished components. Along the way, they learned what Kenson manufactures and how modern equipment, technology, and quality systems are used throughout the production process.

In addition to the technical experience, Kenson team members shared insights into what it takes to work in manufacturing. Students learned about workplace expectations, entry-level skills, and the application and interview process. These conversations helped students better understand how their school learning can lead to real job opportunities.

Overall, the visit showcased Kenson as a place where students can gain work experience, explore future employment, and build long-term careers in advanced manufacturing and quality-related roles.
