The Industrial Manufacturing Technician Pre-Apprenticeship helps high school students begin a pathway to a career in manufacturing. Due to changing manufacturing technologies, entry-level workers require higher skills than before, and employers are struggling to recruit and retain these types of workers.
One of the teachers at Baldwin High School, Natalie Grattan, saw the wonderful opportunity that the pre-apprenticeship offered by Catalyst Connected provided and wanted to introduce it to her students. Baldwin High School is currently in their first year of the IMT Pre-Apprenticeship Program and has a handful of students enrolled. One student in particular is having great success with the curriculum. Sajan, a senior at Baldwin High School, is a very motivated student who instantly found interest in the Industrial Manufacturing Technician content. Prior to the holiday break, Sajan passed his first proctored exam with flying colors. See the image below of him holding his certificate proudly!
Sajan is now diving into the second module (Quality) curriculum and hopes to continue onto the final two modules to receive his full Certified Production Technician Certificate by graduation this spring. We at Catalyst Connection are so proud of Sajan’s success thus far!
