Penn-Trafford Students Present MIC Solutions for FS-Elliott

May 14, 2026

Students at Penn-Trafford High School recently completed their Manufacturing Innovation Challenge project with FS-Elliott. They took on a real-world problem and presented their ideas to the company.

Throughout the project, students worked in teams to develop solutions and think through how their ideas could be applied in a real setting. Their final concepts included two different sizes of a “silencer” designed for the machines, along with thoughtful discussion around the role of AI in the company’s work.

During the final presentation, students not only shared their ideas but also showed strong communication skills. They spoke clearly, explained their thinking, and answered questions with confidence. Their professionalism stood out just as much as their designs.

After the presentation, several students stayed to continue the conversation with company representatives. They asked questions, shared their interests, and reflected on what they learned throughout the project. These moments gave students the chance to connect more deeply with industry professionals and explore career paths.

One of the most impactful takeaways from the day was hearing how students viewed the experience. Even those with clear career plans outside of manufacturing shared that they valued the opportunity to learn something new and be part of the project. Experiences like this help students build awareness and keep future options open.

FS-Elliott representatives shared how impressed they were with the group and the work they presented. Both the school and the company expressed interest in continuing the partnership in the future. This project is another strong example of how hands-on learning brings the classroom and industry together. Students gain real experience, build confidence, and see how their ideas can make an impact.
